Volvo has estimated that a dead XC40 battery pack can be recharged to 80% of its power in around 40 minutes. This rapid-charge will require a DC fast-charging port.
Tech Features
The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be home to an Android Automotive operating system (OS) and will allow updates to the system to be completed wirelessly. Much like Tesla, Volvo is expecting to offer routine updates to their XC40 Recharge models. These updates will allow the models to retain optimal performance while reducing any bugs in the operating systems.

The new, fully-electric, Volvo XC40 Recharge is Volvo’s approach to reducing their carbon footprint on the planet. The company believes that they have maximized the efficiencies of combustion engines and that electric vehicle technologies are the only methods that they can use to achieve their goals. Volvo, as a part of the unveiling, announced that they are now selling all of their hybrid models with a full year of free electric charging for the electric motors.
